On 25 February 2019 the International Council for Adult Education will start a virtual seminar on “The role and impact of adult education” in cooperation with DVV International. The seminar is free of charge and runs via email. It will be complemented by two webinars.
Following each issue of DVV International’s journal Adult Education and Development, the International Council for Adult Education offers an opportunity for a discussion of the topics raised in the print issue in a virtual seminar. The virtual seminar aims at promoting a debate and dialogue on selected articles from the journal in order to delve deeper and broaden the analysis. It offers the opportunity to share concepts, experiences and methods from different regions and contexts, and to inspire new initiatives.
The virtual seminar will start on 25 February and will last for approximately four weeks. The following articles from issue 85 of Adult Education and Development will be the starting point of the seminar:
How adult education can save your life
Henrique Lopes, Portugal
The keys to a peaceful and prosperous Africa
Samuel Asnake Wollie, Ethiopia
Impact beyond the tests: adult education that makes a real difference
Chanell Butler-Morello, USA
The challenges regarding data production
César Guadalupe, Peru
The seminar is free of charge and open to anyone. Registration is possible at any time via email@example.com. The articles and comments of the virtual seminar will be sent to the participants in a series of emails. Contributions and comments (not longer than 500 words) can be sent in French or Spanish as well and will then be translated into English. All articles can also be commented on the virtual seminar website http://virtualseminar.icae.global.
